Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a custom brass gallery rail cost?
Pricing depends on rod length, profile (smooth, fluted, twisted, or square), material (solid brass versus hand-cast metal), finial choice (catalog versus custom-cast), finish (standard catalog versus hand-applied patina), and the complexity of the bracketing. A formal living-room rod with custom finials and a hand-applied finish is significantly more involved than a standard catalog rod for a guest bedroom. We provide a detailed written quote after on-site measurement and finish selection so you and your designer know the full investment before fabrication begins.
Do you work with my interior designer?
Yes. The majority of our Hamptons gallery-rail work is coordinated through interior designers and design firms. We provide trade pricing, dimensioned shop drawings for designer approval, fabricate to spec, and install on the designer's installation schedule alongside drapery from the designer's workroom or ours. Our trade program is set up specifically to make designer collaboration straightforward.
Can you match a finish to existing hardware in my house?
Usually yes. We can match brass finishes to existing plumbing fixtures, cabinet hardware, lighting, door hardware, or even a single piece of antique furniture. Bring us a sample or send a clear photograph, and our suppliers will mix a finish to match within a normal tolerance for hand-applied patinas. For truly unique finishes we coordinate directly with a local metal shop.
What's the lead time?
Typical lead time is 6–10 weeks from approved shop drawing to installation for catalog rods with standard or hand-applied finishes. Fully custom cast finials, ornamentation, or one-off finishes can run 12–16 weeks depending on the complexity. We confirm a firm lead time in writing once finishes and finials are selected so installation can be coordinated with your designer's overall project schedule.
Can you install motorized drapery on a gallery rail?
Yes. We install concealed motorized drapery tracks behind decorative brass gallery rails for clients who want the traditional aesthetic of solid brass hardware combined with the modern convenience of motorized operation. The motorized track does the actual work of moving the panels; the gallery rail remains a decorative architectural element. Both Somfy and Lutron systems are compatible with this configuration.
Do you service Shelter Island and the North Fork?
Yes. We regularly serve Shelter Island, Greenport, Cutchogue, Southold, and Mattituck on the North Fork, the entire South Fork from Westhampton to Montauk, and waterfront properties on both Peconic and Gardiners Bays. Travel is built into our Hamptons project pricing rather than added as a separate line item.
